A Second Lap for Lightning Fibre at the Hastings Half Marathon 2026

Lightning Fibre is delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring the Hastings Half Marathon again in 2026, taking place on Sunday 22nd March.

After a brilliant first year supporting the event in October 2025, we’re excited to be back for year two of what has become one of Hastings’ biggest and best-loved sporting events.

A standout event in the Hastings calendar

Organised by the Hastings Lions Club, the Hastings Half Marathon will be celebrating it's 42nd year in 2026. It’s a major fixture in the town’s calendar and continues to grow in popularity year on year. More than 2,000 runners took part last year, earning the event the England Athletics Award for Best Half Marathon (Mid-Sized Event). With fantastic support from local residents lining the route and cheering participants on from start to finish, the event has earned well-deserved recognition for the hard work of organisers and participants alike.

The race gets underway at 10:30am from Sea Road. From there, runners take on a varied and demanding course that starts along the seafront, heads through St Leonards, into Hastings, climbs towards the highest point in the town, and then descends through the historic Old Town.

The final 2.5 miles run back along the seafront, which can be especially tough when the wind is against you.

With its elevation changes and challenging inclines, the Hastings Half Marathon is widely recognised as one of the tougher half marathons in the country, making it a rewarding test for experienced runners and a memorable challenge for first timers.

Lacing up again

We are proud to be returning as a sponsor for the second consecutive year. We’ll be set up at the Race Village on the day, motivating runners and chatting about our award winning network.

To mark the launch of this year’s sponsorship, Emma Pearce, Lightning Fibre’s Head of Marketing, recently met with Hastings Lions organisers Susie and Thom to discuss the event and Lightning Fibre’s support, after which Susie and Thom set off to run the entire course, while Emma ran back to her car to warm up!

Planning is already well underway, with organisers working on new ideas and developments for this year’s race.

Alongside the half marathon itself, the event also includes a Mini Run, giving younger runners the chance to get involved and enjoy the buzz of race day.

The Hastings Lions Club uses funds raised from the half marathon to support a wide range of local, national and international causes, including charities, community groups, and recent donations such as £25,000 to the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.

You can find full details about the event and get entered in to the race online.

The Hastings Half Marathon is a brilliant showcase of local effort and community support. Whether you’re running, volunteering or cheering from the sidelines, come along and enjoy the day, and we look forward to seeing you there.
