We are delighted to have received this wonderful letter from Josh Babarinde MP for Eastbourne, following recent national news that revealed Eastbourne is within the top 3.5% of locations in the UK for broadband connectivity.
In his message, he congratulated the team on Eastbourne’s strong national ranking and recognised the work that has gone into delivering high-quality connectivity across the town. He also highlighted the wider impact this has for residents, local businesses, and Eastbourne’s future.

ThinkBroadband National Statistics
Statistics from ThinkBroadband ranked Eastbourne, East Sussex - home of Lightning Fibre - 22nd out of 650 UK locations for superfast broadband coverage at 99.9% - and Gigabit and Full Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) at 90% .
New data from ThinkBroadband, for Superfast and Fibre Coverage, has the UK at 90.11% for Gigabit coverage (1000+ Mbps - megabits per second).
ThinkBroadband said:“Our tracking of the UK and its constituent councils and 650 constituencies has the UK at 90% Gigabit broadband coverage as of 25th February 2026. 90% Gigabit coverage is a significant milestone on the way to the political ambition of 99% Gigabit for 2032, and follows on from the UK reaching the 85% milestone back in October 2024.”
