Lightning Fibre to Double Donations for St Wilfrid's Hospice Ahead of Starlight Stroll
Lightning Fibre is launching a massive Double Your Donation Day ahead of the upcoming St Wilfrid's Hospice Starlight Stroll, matching every donation made to St Wilfrid's Hospice on Wednesday 2nd September. So, if you're planning to sponsor someone taking part or make a donation yourself, we'd love you to do it on 2nd September and help us raise as much as possible for the hospice.
The Starlight Stroll takes place on Saturday 12th September 2026, between 4pm and 11pm, at Princes Park, Eastbourne, BN22 7AE, where more than 1,000 people are expected to take part in the annual fundraiser. Organised by St Wilfrid's Hospice, the event gives people the chance to remember loved ones while raising vital funds for the Eastbourne-based charity, which provides specialist care and support for people and families across Eastbourne and the surrounding area.
What to Expect on the Night
Participants can choose either the 5-mile or the 10-mile route, making the event suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. Every walker will receive a paper lantern to decorate, an official Starlight Stroll T-shirt and a commemorative medal.
The Starlight Stroll begins at Princes Park, where you'll also find the Lightning Fibre stand. Before setting off, stop by to say hello, enter our prize giveaways and meet the team.
From there, the walk follows Eastbourne's seafront promenade towards the beautifully lit Italian Gardens at Holywell. Here, participants are invited to place their decorated lantern in memory of someone special before returning to Princes Park along the coast.
Entry costs £20, with under 5s able to take part for free. You can find tickets along with detailed info about the event on the St Wilfrid's website.
Supporting St Wilfrid's Hospice Throughout the Year
Lightning Fibre has worked closely with St Wilfrid's Hospice over the past year, including funding several days of hospice nursing care to celebrate our eighth birthday and returning to sponsor the Rainbow Run for a second consecutive year, where our team spent the day cheering runners on and showering them in clouds of colourful powder.
