Lightning Fibre Support Heathfield Bonfire Night 2025
Bonfire season is here!
Heathfield is gearing up for one of it's most exciting nights of the year - Heathfield Bonfire Night, hosted by the Heathfield & District Bonfire Society (HDBS). Taking place on Saturday 11th October 2025, the evening will feature a torchlit procession, a huge bonfire, dazzling fireworks and entertainment for all ages.
About the Heathfield District Bonfire Society
HDBS isn’t just about putting on a spectacular show each October - it’s a non-profit group dedicated to supporting the community all year round.
Since reforming in 2018, the Society has raised funds for local groups such as the Scouts in Heathfield, Hospice in the Weald, schools, youth projects and other grassroots initiatives. Beyond Bonfire Night, they host quizzes, music evenings and other fundraisers to make a difference to the local community.
You may also have spotted the HDBS team at the Le Marché Festival in Heathfield this August - entertaining everyone with their brilliant human fruit machine game. Lightning Fibre were proud to be the headline sponsor at the event, and we’re delighted to continue our support in Heathfield by getting involved in this year’s Bonfire Night.
Supporting a Safe and Enjoyable Event
Lightning Fibre is helping support the evening by providing essential barriers for public safety during the procession and around the fire site. We’re pleased to play a role in making the event run smoothly.
What to Expect on the Night
The torchlit procession starts at the Heathfield Tavern and travels up Station Road – passing our recently redecorated Lightning Fibre cabinet, featuring artwork from the Heathfield Youth Hub - then along the High Street, turning at the fire station, and finishing up Mill Road at the fire site near Heathfield Community Centre.
Societies from across Sussex, including Lewes, Uckfield, Mayfield, and East Hoathly, will be taking part. With no calendar clashes with Sussex's local bonfire nights this year, it promises to be a well-attended, vibrant spectacle.
Road closures will be in place from 6:30pm to 10:00pm,and parking is available at Station Road West (behind Tesco), Station Road East (rear of State Hall), and near the Cuckoo Trail opposite Waitrose.
Fire Site Entry
For those who want the prime viewing spots for the bonfire and fireworks, wristbands are available for entry to the Fire Site at Heathfield Community Centre. Priced at £4, they can be purchased in advance from Farrago on the High Street, Mermaid Lounge in Horam, and Heathfield & Waldron Parish Council. Children under 5 can enter for free. Wristbands are cash-only and must be pre-purchased, so it’s best to secure yours early.
The procession through the town remains completely free to watch, so everyone can enjoy the atmosphere and displays along the High Street and Station Road.
At the fire site, visitors will find:
- The fantastic bonfire and fireworks display that will start at 20:40.
- The Gun Brewery Airstream Bar (a converted 1970s Airstream Land Yacht)
- Food stalls and entertainment for families and visitors of all ages.
Full programme details and timings can be found on the event website and official event programme.
