Buzzing Bank Holiday at Le Marché in Heathfield

On Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August 2025, the town of Heathfield in East Sussex was bursting with cheese and pastry enthusiasts and deli connoisseurs as Le Marché - the South East’s longest-running Anglo-French market - returned for another day of celebration, with over 100 stalls and lots of live music and entertainers.

Lightning Fibre was proud to once again play an active role as a main sponsor for this fantastic community event, that is raising money for the Heathfield & Waldron Rotary Club this year.

The event is also supported by Wealden District Council, Heathfield & Waldron Parish Council and a host of local businesses and organisations that provide car parking, stewarding, web design, electricity, toilet facilities and programme design.

The event brought together hundreds of residents of all ages for a full day of fun.

Free WiFi

As a special extra bonus this year, our support also included setting up free site-wide Wi-Fi for the event, ensuring that visitors, organisers, volunteers, stallholders and musicians could get connected.

The Lightning Fibre engineering and network team were working on the Thursday, Sunday and Monday to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Standout Sets

The outdoor music stage is at the heart of Le Marché and had live performances from brilliant local bands and choirs, that brought an energetic soundtrack to the bustling market and got lots of people dancing. These included:

·      Sussex Stompers Jazz Band

·      The Tannens

·      Cake & Wine Club Choir

·      The Always

·      The Fat Belly Jones Band

·      Twice Dailey

·      Bob Melrose and P. Tripp

Marco the Magician and Andy Bosco were entertainers on the streets and in the State Hall for a children’s programme of activities.

Emma Pearce, Lightning Fibre’s Head of Marketing, attended and said:

“We’re incredibly proud to sponsor Le Marché for the fourth year running. There was a wonderful festival vibe and a fantastic range of French and local stalls with gorgeous products. The turnout was huge with such a sunny day and the acts on stage were very charismatic and fun! It’s great to be involved with such a wonderful community event – well done to all the organisers and volunteers that worked so hard to make it happen.”

Our community team had a brilliant time on our stand, not far from the main stage. They were busy chatting all day to local people interested in our great value and hyperfast broadband connections for their homes and businesses.

If you’d like to see whether our lightning-fast and affordable broadband reaches your home, check your postcode on our website. You can also call our friendly local team on 01323 380260 (8am–8pm daily). Business owners/managers can email Joe Brownell at business@lightningfibre.co.uk to explore connectivity options tailored to your needs.

Until next year, au revoir!
