Making Waves Together: Lightning Fibre Backs Eastbourne Rowing Club

Lightning Fibre is proud to announce its sponsorship of Eastbourne Rowing Club, one of the town's longest-established sports clubs and a familiar sight on Eastbourne seafront for more than 160 years.

The sponsorship begins at an exciting time for the club as it prepares to host its annual Eastbourne Regatta this Saturday, 6 June from 10am to 4pm.

On the sea since 1860

Founded in 1860, Eastbourne Rowing Club is one of the oldest coastal rowing clubs in the country.

Based at The Boathouse on Royal Parade, the club welcomes people of all abilities, from complete beginners through to experienced competitors.

Membership is open to juniors aged 13 and over, students and adults.

The club trains on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. Summer sessions take place on the sea, while winter training combines indoor fitness work with rowing at Wallers Haven near Pevensey.

The club also competes throughout the South Coast rowing circuit, travelling to regattas and competitions across Sussex, Kent and Hampshire. As part of our sponsorship with the club, we will be supporting the Junior 4 boat and it's crew.

The Eastbourne Regatta stretches from Fisherman's Green to Eastbourne Pier

Eastbourne Regatta

Taking place along Eastbourne seafront at Royal Parade, the club's home event is completely free to watch and will welcome around 250 competitors from 10 visiting rowing clubs for a full day of racing.

Eastbourne Rowing Club will host crews from across the region to compete in around 24 races throughout the day.

Lightning Fibre is proud to be sponsoring three races at this year's regatta: the Open Junior Four, Open Masters 50s, and the Open Novice Sculls Final.

Spectators can watch from the beach and promenade, with excellent views of the course stretching between Fisherman's Green and Eastbourne Pier.

Pulling Together for Eastbourne

This partnership reflects Lightning Fibre's ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations that bring people together and play an important role within the community.

Emma Pearce, Head of Marketing at Lightning Fibre, said:

"Eastbourne Rowing Club has been part of the town's sporting community for generations and continues to provide opportunities for people of all ages to get involved, stay active and represent Eastbourne across the South Coast. We're delighted to support the club and look forward to seeing another successful regatta on the seafront this weekend."
