Charlie Shaw’s Revenge: Synopsis
Charlie Shaw’s Revenge is a thriller-horror film.
In the movie, a group of workers preparing for there-opening of a remote adventure park, find themselves stalked by a silent killer. Cut off from any form of rescue, the survivors must band together to fight for their lives.
“While the story of Charlie Shaw’s Revenge is rooted in classic horror elements, isolated characters, a mysterious killer, and escalating danger, the film doesn’t rely solely on blood and gore,” says Director John Langridge. “This was always a film about people under pressure. We wanted to explore how fear changes behaviour – how quickly trust erodes, how survival forces difficult choices. The horror grows out of those dynamics.”
The talented cast have featured on a range of tv and films - from Coronation Street through to Captain America: The First Avenger, Wednesday and Zach Snyder's Justice League.

Charlie Shaw’s Revenge: In the Making
Renato and John first began chatting about this project together when they met as dads in the school playground.
Charlie Shaw’s Revenge is the biggest and most recent collaboration between John and Renato for Drop Dead Films. The project was developed over three years, from initial prep in 2022, casting and shooting in 2023, editing in 2024, and post-production in 2025.
A Local Cast, Local Talent and Local Support: A Community Film Project
As well as the largely local cast and film crew, the launch and production is supported by local businesses and volunteers, including:
· Knockhatch Adventure Park and East Sussex School of Circus Arts – a 65 acre site that was renamed ‘Forrestals Funland’ for the film location
· Lightning Fibre, PXL wave graphics, Olive Pine Accountancy, Gianni’s Restaurant Eastbourne, and Switchplane – film screening events
· The Lansdowne Hotel in Eastbourne provided accommodation for the actors and crew members.
· Chrstina Ewbank from the Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce facilitated introductions to enable permission to be granted for filming driving over nearby fields.
· The Belgian Café in Eastbourne donated beers for a scene during filming.
John added “It really was a community project with the collaboration of all the parties involved, from a free license to shoot and circus equipment made for the film. This enabled the film to be bigger and more expansive than originally planned for an independent studio.”
Circus Skills, Fire-Breathing & A True Family Project
Renato’s circus background played a major role in the film’s unique style. He trained actors in circus skills, worked on stunts, and even taught an actress to breathe fire in just two hours, a skill that added a spectacular moment to the movie.

Renato also appears on screen as Ari, and his daughter Aaliyah-Monroe (8 years old at the time of filming) appears in flashback scenes using her circus silk skills.
