Hastings Pirate Festival Sets Sail with Lightning Fibre as Proud Sponsor
Hastings was awash with pirates, music, and maritime mayhem over the weekend as the much-loved Hastings Pirate Festival took over the town on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2025 – and we at Lightning Fibre were thrilled to hoist the flag as the main sponsor once again!
This creative, community-driven celebration of Hastings’ rich nautical history has been a staple of the town’s summer calendar since2009, thanks to the tireless efforts of Anton Burton-Windsor and his team. Since adopting a two-day format in 2021, the event has gone from strength to strength – and this year’s festivities truly felt like the biggest and best yet.
Flying the Lightning Fibre Flag
As proud sponsors for the fourth year running, Lightning Fibre was right in the thick of the action, supporting various parts of the weekend – including the iconic Pirate Parade, a swashbuckling spectacle of cutlasses, tricorn hats, and rum-loving rogues marching through the streets. There were pirates of all ages walking the route and a bit of rain didn’t dissuade any buccaneer from enjoying the occasion.
Our Community Team was set up by the main arena throughout Sunday’s event too, chatting with locals, answering questions about our broadband services and soaking up the fun. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello – it was brilliant to meet so many friendly faces. We have to say that you all looked fantastic in your pirate gear!
A Growing Community Celebration
What started as a grassroots idea has grown into one of Hastings’ signature events, drawing thousands of residents and visitors alike. From live music and street performers to family-friendly activities and themed food and drink, the town was buzzing with pirates and laughter all weekend long. The creativity and commitment from the local community were on full display – and we were proud to play a part in making it happen.
Speaking after the event, our Chief Commercial Officer, Rob Reaks, shared his thoughts:
