East Sussex based Broadband operator and ISP Lightning Fibre, founded in Eastbourne in 2018, is bringing its new Hyper fast network to Hastings and St Leonards on Sea, making them some of the best-connected towns in the UK.
Cllr James Bacon, Hastings’ Mayor, unveiled the new Primary Node Cabinet with Lightning Fibre CEO Ben Ferriman, and commented, “It is really exciting to officially unveil the Town Centre primary node cabinet. Having Lightning Fibre in Hastings and St Leonards is going to benefit so many residents and businesses in their everyday lives. Thank you Lightning Fibre for investing in our area.”
With a multi-million-pound investment secured in 2020, the firm has built a future-proofed Full Fibre broadband network in East Sussex, creating almost 200 local jobs, and improving the connectivity of thousands of homes and businesses.
Lightning Fibre takes a ‘community-centric’ approach, supporting grassroots football teams including Hastings Athletic FC U10s, Frost Fair, Pirate Day, and last year sponsored one of 30 Duck Sculptures for the St Michael’s Hospice Follow that Duck outdoor art trail, raising awareness and funds for the local hospice in Hastings.
Ben Ferriman, CEO, commented, “We already have many happy customers in Eastbourne, and I am delighted that we can now connect homes and businesses in Hastings. Our customers want to access a locally operated network, rather than using a mainstream provider, and benefit from excellent customer service. We’re proud to be rated Excellent on Trustpilot. Over the next twelve months or so our network will reach almost every premises in Hastings and St. Leonards.”
With households under financial pressure from the rising cost of living, the company offers a social tariff of £15 per month for those on means tested benefits, on a rolling 30 day contract, and a symmetric 100Mbps package from just £24 per month. The top package offers speeds of 900Mbps or more, which proves popular with busy households, gamers and home workers who need Hyperfast upload and download speeds.
