East Sussex Full Fibre network builder, operator and ISP, Lightning Fibre, announces multi-million pound expansion into West Sussex

Eastbourne-based AltNet Lightning Fibre, founded in 2018, has built its new symmetric Full Fibre network in Eastbourne, Hastings, Hailsham and Heathfield. A multi-million pound private investment boost means the network will now upgrade Haywards Heath to a ‘gigabit-town’.

Unlike some other Altnets, Lightning Fibre uses a combination of Openreach Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) and brand new infrastructure, enabling it to pledge to reach almost every home and business in the towns it serves.

Ben Ferriman, Founder and CEO, commented, “Demand for decent broadband in our region is huge, we’ve made great progress in East Sussex since our launch, and the feedback from our customers is overwhelmingly positive. Great speeds, improved reliability and outstanding customer care, combined with our community-centric approach which creates inward investment and new jobs. We’re rated Excellent on Trustpilot, because we really do care. We’re delighted to ‘break ground’ in Haywards Heath.”

Councillor Stephen Hillier, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Net Zero for Mid Sussex District Council commented, “This private investment is great for our region. This announcement means Haywards Heath residents and businesses can access a hyper fast Full Fibre broadband network, it also creates more local jobs. I welcome this news and I wish Lightning Fibre every success.”

With households under financial pressure from the rising cost of living, the company has also slashed its prices, making it one of the cheapest full fibre providers in the region.  The company has scrapped set up fees for most of its 24mth domestic packages and does not impose inflationary annual price rises during a fixed contract term.

As the network rolls out, people are invited to register their interest online at www.LightningFibre.co.uk, this also gives the company an idea of demand levels which informs the planning of their network build. Once an area is connected, customers simply switch online or call 01323 380260 to talk to the Sales Team.

The company also encourages anyone with questions, concerns or issues relating to the network build to contact them by phone or email ask@lightningfibre.co.uk and they promise to deal with issues promptly.
