Charity Car Smash Comes to Polegate with Support from Lightning Fibre
On Sunday 30 August 2026, Lightning Fibre will be supporting the Charity Car Smash at Rage X-Treme, Chaucer Business Park, Dittons Road, Polegate.
Organised by Rage X-Treme owners Amy and Ben, the event runs from 10am to 5pm and is raising money for Children with Cancer Fund and Ronald McDonald House Charities, with Lightning Fibre supporting the fundraiser by donating a prize for the charity raffle.
A smashing day for charity
The day’s headline attraction is the chance to safely smash up a car owned by Ben, one of the owners of Rage X-Treme.
Two lucky raffle winners will each be able to bring three friends along to take the very first swings. After that, anyone can take part for £10 per 10-minute session, making it a fun and unusual way to support the fundraiser.
Raffle tickets are available in advance for £10 per strip or £25 for three strips, with the two winning tickets being drawn on Friday 21 August 2026.
Everyone who buys a raffle ticket will also be entered into the charity prize raffle, including those who purchase tickets on the day.
There will be plenty more happening throughout the event, including Rage X-Treme's Crockery Smash, a portable climbing wall from The Ordinary Climber, a cold plunge experience hosted by Oasis Sauna, and a fitness challenge run by Full Range Fitness.
The Mayoress of Eastbourne, Councillor Margaret Bannister, and members of the local policing team will also be attending.
The story behind the fundraiser
The fundraiser has a personal connection for Amy and Ben. When their son, Oakland, was born in 2022 with a rare condition requiring specialist hospital care, Ronald McDonald House Brighton provided accommodation close to the hospital, along with practical support including food parcels, essential facilities and equipment during a difficult time.
Alongside supporting Children with Cancer Fund, the event is their way of giving back to a charity that supported their family when they needed it most.
Lightning Fibre has donated a Netgem PLEIO entertainment package with a 12-month subscription as a charity raffle prize. The winner will be able to enjoy live television, popular streaming apps and cloud gaming through one easy-to-use device.
