Lightning Fibre is recruiting Civils Operatives to join the team in Eastbourne. This role reports to the Cabling Manager.

Lightning Fibre is the leading local alternative network for Full Fibre broadband in East Sussex. We are headquartered in Eastbourne where our existing broadband network is. Our broadband network has the ability to supply everyone with not just 1 Gigabit broadband but with multi Gigabits and not just download either, uploads too.

We are a community orientated network operator, whose aim is to significantly upgrade our regions broadband infrastructure, providing local jobs and acting as a vital enabler to grow our digital local economy, thereby creating further quality jobs. Lightning Fibre has bold plans afoot with Eastbourne and Hastings at the forefront.

We are looking for civil operatives with experience on working on the BT network. As an ISP we require a team that can work on any part of the BT underground network. You will also be involved with the cabling team which will consist of rod and rope of the BT duct, pulling in sub duct and blowing fibre to our network as well as BT network.

LA - location and avoidance of underground apparatus

01 - Signing, lighting and Guarding

02 – Excavation in the highway

03 - Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials

04 – Reinstatement of sub-base and base in non-bituminous

05 – Reinstatement in cold-lay bituminous materials

06 - Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials

08 – Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footway

Full UK Driving licence
